St. Michael Parish

With Christmas Day fast approaching, we are asking for help in providing badly-needed supplies to local homless shelters operated by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark.  There are five such shelters in Hudson County and three in Essex County; each serving homeless people of differing circumstances:  single women, single men, adults with children, or men with HIV/AIDDS.  

Items for ALL of these facilities ARE BEING COLLECTED AT:  St. Lucy's Shelter, 615 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ  07302.  

The following items are needed:  

• twin-size bed linen sets, twin-size mattress protectors/covers, twin-size comforters, twin-size blankets, bath towels, face/wash cloths, bath soap, laundry detergent, lice shampoo. 
• Personal Care Kits (please make each kit specific for a man, woman, or child):  soap, lotion, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, shave cream, razors personal hygiene products.
• Paper Goods: toilet paper, paper towls, paper napkins, tissues, etc.
• Pots and pans, cooking utensils and accessories (oven mitts, pot holders, etc.)  
• Clothing items for men, women, or children, such as:  Sweat Suits (tops and bottoms), t-shirts, underwear, socks, hats, scarves.  

As stated above, please BRING THESE ITEMS DIRECTLY TO SAINT LUCY'S SHELTER.  Please DO NOT bring them to the church!
